JETIX, THE INTERNET AND PRIVACY

Just as you are told not to speak to strangers, you should be careful about giving your personal details (your name, address, telephone number, e-mail address, etc) to people on the internet. Here at Jetix, we think your safety is important, so we make sure we keep safe any personal details you share with us. This Privacy Policy explains what sort of information we collect and how we use it. You will need to read this Policy and discuss it with your parents and get your parent’s consent before you share any information about yourself with Jetix.

WHO ARE WE?

Jetix.co.uk is operated by a company called Jetix Entertainment Limited. This is the company which collects and holds information about you as part of the Jetix Club registration process. So when we say ‘we’ that’s who we’re talking about!

WHAT INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT?

Jetix Club

The main way we collect information is when you apply to join the Jetix Club. This is the process you need to go through to become a Jetix Club member, during which you tell us your username, your address, your email address, your name and your parent’s contact details. If you become a member of the Jetix Club you will be able to post comments in the Jetix Forums, get our fantastic email newsletter, make your own homepage and use your loyalty points (Blox) to get stuff in our Boutik and do all the things other Jetix Club members can do.

WHAT DO WE USE THE INFORMATION FOR?

Improving the Jetix Service

Most importantly, we use your information to improve the quality and range of the service we can give you. With the information, we can include more of what you like, improve those parts of the site that need it and introduce new features you have suggested. We will also use the information to notify you of our other services and to inform you of future events taking place at Jetix.

Sharing information with other people

It is very important to us to keep your information safe and to let you know what we do with your information. In the ordinary course of running our business we may share your information with other companies that relate to Jetix. If you have asked for it, we will also use your details to send you our newsletter which has info about new features on the website including any new promotions by Jetix or our partners that appear on the site. We will only do this for products and services which we think are suitable for kids.

LINKS TO OTHER SITES

Our web site includes links to some of our advertisers’ and business partners' sites. Some of these sites may be 'co-branded' with a Jetix logo, however they are not operated, maintained or supervised by Jetix. That means that this Privacy Policy will not apply to information collected on those sites, so it is important that you check each site’s privacy policy before submitting any personal information.

SECURITY

We have security systems in place to make sure any personal details you share with us are kept safe and up to date on our systems. When you register with us you will be asked to choose a password, ensuring that your membership details are kept private. It is up to you to keep this password secret. We will show your password and the other information you give us to your mum and dad when we ask for their permission for you to be a member of Jetix Club, but we don’t show anyone else and it’s important that you don’t either!

IT'S YOUR CHOICE

As protection of your personal details is serious stuff, we need to get your mum or dad’s or guardian's consent for you to give us information about you when you register as a Jetix Club member. At registration you will be asked to tell us your parent's or guardian's e-mail address so that we can send an e-mail to them asking for their consent. If they don’t want us to hold any personal information about you at all then you won’t be able to be a Jetix Club member (though you will still be able to use most of the site with your nickname and password). When we write to them we will ask them if they are happy for your personal details to be used in the ways we've said. If they do not consent to us sending you information, we will not use your personal details for these purposes. If they do consent but they later change their mind, or if you don’t want us to use your information, even though your mum or dad has consented, you can ask us to stop using your information by emailing us at webmaster_uk@jetixeurope.net

If your parent or guardian doesn’t have an email address or their email address is the same as yours, we ask them this stuff in a form which you can download and print off from the site at the end of the page where you fill in your personal information.

IMPORTANT NOTE FOR PARENTS AND GUARDIANS

At Jetix we hope that kids and parents/legal guardians will use our web site together and that parents/legal guardians will supervise kids when they use the internet. To check that it is OK to register a kid, we require that all kids who want to register give us an e-mail address or other contact details for their parent or legal guardian. We will not register a kid until their parent/guardian gives his/her consent to the above stated uses of their kids' personal information. A parent or guardian can at any time request that their kid’s registration be invalidated or that information is corrected, deleted or not used for specific purposes by e-mailing us at 'webmaster_uk@jetixeurope.net'. It is important that anyone giving consent to a kid's use of our web site subject to the terms of this Privacy Policy is the parent or legal guardian of that child.

If you would like further information on Jetix' Privacy Policy please contact us at 'webmaster_uk@jetixeurope.net' or by post to Jetix Data Protection Officer, 3 Queen Caroline Street, Hammersmith, London W6 9PE.
